Karine Duteil
BRAC Teaching Artist, Public Space and Landscape Design, 2004 - Present
Art, education, and environment are the base for the practice Karine Duteil co-founded with Nadej Hocini, KaN Site Curators/Landscape Design Inc. They designed BRAC's rooftop and native riparian garden with art in mind and educational components throughout.
Why I Teach: “
I teach to learn. Students/participants always surprised and inspired me. Now I conduct community design charettes and workshops to get input and feedback on my work. Designing a space/land is a give-and-take process. You bring your knowledge, experience, and sensibility and expose it to your client/community, whose feedback becomes another component of the creative process.
